What do you enjoy about working with the SI program and/or having a class with an SI Leader?
Students (especially first time college students) are really intimidated by the size of some classes that they are in. Having an SI leader holding sessions two/three times a week gives those students a chance to ask questions or get clarification on a topic when they don't want to ask a question in front of 200+ other people. It also gives students another option to receive that little extra help in case a professor's office hours don't necessarily fit the student's schedule.

What would you say to students who are trying to figure out whether or not to go to SI Sessions?
Do it. Not only will you receive extra help from the SI leader to help you be successful in the course, but you will also meet other students like you who need that extra help. This can help you form study groups for your class to help you even be more successful.

What would you say to a faculty member or department who is interested in having SI?
With more and more classes going to large sections of classes, SI is a great way to provide your students with extra help and resources that you may not always be able to provide in your office hours. If you are like me, having a lot of students in your office asking questions can be overwhelming and you may not be able to provide all the help that you would like when everyone wants to meet with you.
