What do you enjoy about working with the SI program and/or having a class with an SI Leader?
I love how involved the SI program allows us as lecturers/instructors/professors to be. We are involved in the hiring process from recommending that students apply to rating final applicants. The SI Leaders are truly handpicked to be the very best for our students. The relationships formed with SI Leaders are lasting!
What would you say to students who are trying to figure out whether or not to go to SI Sessions?
All students should try at least one or two SI Sessions. You may find you have some preconceived notions on what SI is or isn't. You may end up pleasantly surprised!
What would you say to a faculty member or department who is interested in having SI?
Just try it for a semester. See what your students have to say about SI afterwards. There is so much flexibility in the program so that you can be as involved or as passive as you'd like.
