What do you enjoy about working with the SI program and/or having a class with an SI Leader?
Having an SI Leader for my large classes is such an asset. I love that an SI Leader is someone who has already sat through the course and is comfortable with the course material. Having a peer who has already been through the class helps the students feel more comfortable going to them with questions. Some of my previous students felt more at ease going to someone their own age for help, which SI makes possible.

What would you say to students who are trying to figure out whether or not to go to SI Sessions?
I would tell my students to give SI a try. Go to at least a session or two. I also always recommend not to wait until right before a test. Going to SI regularly has been proven to yield better results in my classes.

What would you say to a faculty member or department who is interested in having SI?
I highly recommend having an SI Leader. I love getting to know my SI Leaders and becoming invested in their lives. I have been a part of the SI program as a faculty member for four years. I can say without a doubt that having an SI Leader makes each semester easier for me as an instructor.
