What I enjoy most about being at MSU: I enjoy the community and the various opportunities to get involved! I love that there are so many ways to meet others, connect, and build relationships.

Advice for students: The most important advice I would give students would be to always keep a growth mindset. I believe students should keep going even when things get tough because pushing through challenges really helps you in the long run. I also think that things become much easier with practice, time, and experience. For example, someone who is not used to walking or running in the heat may struggle when they first have to do it, whereas someone who spent the whole summer walking and running outside will find it much easier when they get to campus and have to walk to class. Eventually, something that once felt difficult becomes normal. I think school is the same way. So, the more you practice and push through challenges, the easier they become.

Why students should go to SI: One reason I encourage SI is because of the forgetting curve. I was taught to make sure I review my class material soon after it is taught, ideally immediately after class or at least that same day. I have found that reviewing class material in SI helps me genuinely remember the material I was taught in class rather than waiting until right before an exam to review it. Usually, classes that offer SI have cumulative exams, including the Chemistry I course I will be teaching. This is why I believe it is so important for students to consistently review and retain the material they are learning in class.

Hobbies & interests: Some of my hobbies and interests include working out, Pilates, spending time with friends and family, and working with children. I also love animals, learning new things, and exploring new interests. I am currently taking Spanish and would love to learn sign language as well!
